Man... you guys get more worked up over a few artifacts than the lives of 24 million Iraqis and another couple of a million U.S. soldiers. Nice, real nice.
Just another piece of evidence showing what a poor planner and disregaurd for values Bush has. Much like those lives you mention he has little concern over. Much like the bill of rights or american values like truth and justice he willing shreds for "security". But he did insure oil and presidential palaces were not hit because that's the spoils or war and living quarters for IRAQ's next american CEO's.

10,000 years of human history from the cradle of civilization.

You assume we are more worked up over the artifacts but your assumption is not valid. No one here compared the loss of 10,000 pieces of history with the unnecessary loss of American and Iraqi lives.

Why would you think such a thing?

We are discussing the sacking of the Iraq National Museum which was made possible by the US refusal to provide security even after repeated warnings and pleas from several archaelogists both outside and inside Iraq.

Not the relationship between the loss of thousands of years of history and human life. But we can since you brought it up if you like.

This isn't WWII. The comparison between the US invasion of Iraq and WWII is ridiculous. You people won't even admit it looks like Viet Nam! And you're trying to make it WWII now.

We were attacked before we entered WWII by the nations we defeated. That's an imminent threat. Not some pipe dream concocted by the Bush administration. There was NO urgent threat from Iraq against the US. Bush and Co. made one (or two or three) up.

a) We weren't militarily victorious in Vietnam, we were in WWII.
b) We weren't in a position to rebuild in Vietnam, we were in WWII.
