more system problems

Now that i've replaced the mobo with a new one here's what i get:

only the fans work..

Is this now a CPU problem??? I hope not.

Any help i'll give ya a great big hug! 🙂 or some WUs..

All I have insalled is the basics; mobo, memory, cpu/fan, HDD,FDD and CDrom.

Cleared CMOS reseated everything even CPU... :frown:

Wellcky, two things:

• look at page 11 of the manual (downloadable here if needed) and they show a screw hole where they want you to not use a metal stud under the board. Maybe something tricksy about that hole... try taking out that stud if the next tip doesn't fix things.
• On page 15, they confirm what I thought... this board won't start up if it doesn't have an RPM signal on the CPUFAN1 header. You can override this feature by holding the Insert key, then go into the BIOS and disable FOC (Fan Off Control).

Hope it's one of those two! 🙂

Ok, try this next:

• Look around the house for a hammer. Something at least 16oz or bigger is good.
• Approach the board with a demented look, and glare at the computer for a while, holding the hammer where the motherboard can see it.
• Put the hammer down nearby, and try pushing down hard on the video card in case it's not getting past the second row of contacts in the AGP slot.
• Double-check that the memory is all the way into the slot all the way across.
• Look at the rear of the PSU to ensure that it's set to 110V and not 220V input voltage.
• Unplug all drives from the board, pick up the hammer to show you mean business, and see if it will fire up. If not, try the parts in another system one by one, or just bash it to bits with the hammer and take up some other expensive hobby such as bicycle racing 😀

Your problem = no post at all?

Try disconnecting everything but cpu/hsf, vid card and RAM. Does it post then?
if no - then try different vid card,
in still no then try RAM,
if still no then try a different PSU.

If it were me having the problems then I'd have the board outside of the case by now to rule out any "shorting" problems. Make sure you have proper grounding and static protection though 😉

If all the above = still no post then I'd say try a new CPU since you've replaced everything else. Mobo is new/replaced?
