For a different type than the other thread, preferably top freezer but not a requirement.

Time frame 4th of July sales. Size limit: 65" tall, 30" deep, 32" wide.

Looking for good quality, not sure what 'features' to get. Water in the door seems 'nice to have' but faucets aren't that big a problem. Ice maker nice, but trays work.

Price should include full install/takeaway, which nearly all seem to.

So many to pick from.

Here's a nice Sears from the other thread that's not top freezer:

Home Depot basic GE $500:

Home Depot LG $600, but a tight fit:

Why do we need another thread dedicated to refrigerators?

I'm sure having a cold Perrier is more important than ensuring the environment isn't absolutely ravaged for the children of tomorrow.

Lowes has a fridge for $425 with glass shelves this weekend. Next option up is a GE energy efficient fridge for $500 (available at Lowes or Home Depot). Both are 18.3 cu. in. Both get good reviews. Both are relatively reliable compared to the shit out there.

Go with the Frigidaire at Lowes for $425. You can get a 10% coupon from the post office moving package or Googling the Lowes link. You most likely have to call Lowes Customer Service to get that coupon. Wait a day or two in your email or call it in.

Secondly, use Ebates to knock off 6% this 4th of July weekend.

Also, you can sign up for a Discover card as they're offering 5% off Home Improvement stores until the end of June (you can get your CC # by calling customer service). I believe Chase Cashback also has a 5% for this period.

All in all, you can knock off about $60+ off the $425 by playing this game.

Thanks for the tips. I assume the $500 one is the one I linked? Is there nothing better about the $500 over the $425 to justify getting it? Any other recommended deals?

The $500 GE unit has a little bit sturdier glass shelves than the Frigidaire but that's not enough to pay $140 more after discounts.

These cheap fridges are good enough for the task and both Frigidaire and GE are reliable brands (in the top freezer category in Consumer Reports) as long as you stay away from ice maker attachments which are much more prone to breakage, according to CR stats.

I have had bad experiences with crappy Frigidaire and Electrolux (rebradged Frigidaire at double the price).

I would go with the standard 18 Cu. Ft. GE/Hotpoint.

I have a basic GE fridge, has been trouble free, top freezer model. I am fairly certain it's just a low end one, working well.
