More Ram

Thinking now that Ram is so cheap and Far Cry 3 is imminent, it might be a good time to get 8GB. Am thinking 1866 so I can max out the bandwidth (1800 instead of 1440 on P55) There doesn't seem to be much between most available sticks, all seem to be advertised at 9-10-9.

I've read through a few roundups and threads on here, I realise there are a few brands people recommend but was wondering if anyone knew which manufacturers the companies like Corsair/G-skill get their ram from and which would have the best potential for running at lower latencies.

I'm currently 'enjoying' a trfc (total round trip) of 59 (not sure how that correlates to ns but it's low)

Also I presume if it's rated at 1.5v it's pretty much a given it will run safely at 1.65?

Why would anyone want to run memory at a higher voltage than it's rated for?
If I were shopping for high quality memory, I would use the following parameters as a guide...

* DDR3 rated at 1.5v or lower
* DDR3 rated at the lowest CAS I could afford
* DDR3 rated at the highest clock speed I could afford
* Limit the scope of my purchease to G.Skill, Mushkin, Corsair XMS or Crucial (non-Ballistix)

While not wavering on the voltage point, I would balance the other issues with my budget.

Remember, my goal is not pure "benchmarking" performance, but simply finding the highest quality memory I can afford. ^_^
The only reason I pay a premium for low latency, high speed, low voltage memory is...
Quality and quality alone.
1.5v is the JEDEC DDR3 voltage standard.
Stay with 1.5v or less if you can afford it..

I did read this before, do you know who makes the chips that these companies use?

Any reason for not using ballistix?

I was thinking I might need a little headroom if I was to overclock my CPU any further, hence higher than 1.5.

I'm not sold on anything yet lol, did a quick seacrch in this section for ballistix, uncovered a few problems people were having with other brands (at very high speeds), I don't suppose you could sum it up in a sentence or 2?
