I'm running a RAID 0 setup on an Abit KT7-raid board with two 45GB Deskstars(knock on wood) using W98Me, is it possible to install W2K and dual boot it and W98Me *without* partitioning the drives?
(I have Partition Magic and IIRC, it wouldnt let me create a partition which I think I read was because of the RAID set up.)

I'll be updating the KT7 bios so that I can run a stock 1.4/200 Athlon and ABIT warns that I might lose the RAID setup when I update, so I figured I'd update the bios and reset RAID and install W2K all at the same time.

Any input would be helpful.

If this becomes too involved I may simply breakdown and build a seperate W98Me Gamebox... anybody got a recommendation for a great video card for less than $200?

You should just be able to install win2k, since it recognizes FAT32and will install in the winnt folder not the windows folder. Don't know of anybody who's done it that way, though.

You cannot dual boot WinME or Win9X with W2K without a second partition unless you are using two HDD separately. But since you are rebuilding the RAID array you can run Fdisk from a Win9X boot disk and then create a second partition on your array. I've done this on my 2- 20GB Raid 0 Array.

Thanks Jiggz, this sounds like exactly what I need to do.
So I *can* create a partition in Raid, I just need to do it using fdisk and not Partition Magic.
Excellent.

Which OS should I install first? W98Me or W2K?
And do I need to install the Via 4in1/Highpoint drivers under both OS's?

Install Win98/ME then Win2K install Highpoint/VIA in both you might need to install highpoint drivers during Win2k Install "Install SCSI Drivers" F6.
