ok... so i noticed first when i installed windows xp that it was recognizing the right amount of video memory on my card (64) it was saying i only had 32...... now i know i need a new driver that will prolly make it run better and realize the right amount.... but for the most part when i download a SUPPOSED driver that works i get this in most of the read me's "These drivers will allow you to make advanced changes to the Voodoo3 hardware" will these drivers that WORK for voodoo3 also work for voodoo5 in xp?.... ive been trying but so far not very successful... any help would be much appreciated. thanks.:|

I had a Voodoo 4, and I couldn't find any drivers that would recognize, or even work in XP. Trust me, upgrade to a Nvidia or Radeon. Its worth it. 3dfx cards are not gunna work any upcoming OS's, and they cant keep up to other cards when it comes to Gaming.

With 3dfx cards you basically have 2 options nowadays

1) stick with a Win9X/ME OS

2) buy a newer card

I hate to break it to you but I doubt you'll get that card working properly with WinXP

First, don't worry about what memory it shows just worry if it works. Remember, it came with 64MB of memory but it was practically only 32MB because each of the two chips required its own memory. And people wonder why the company took a dirt nap.

Anway, I agree with the others. If it works great, but otherwise do not knock yourself out over it just get a better card. You can prolly even make money in the bargain.
