Hi folks...

When I right click an image on a webpage and want to save it to a file,
I can only save it as a .bmp file, regardless of the image type on the webpage. Anyone know how I can fix this?

I was saving files before as .jpg files but I tried installing WinMe , didnt like it and went back to Win98 and now I cant save images as files other than .bmp files...

Thats not that much of a concern. All you have to do is convert it to jpg with paint or something. But it is a hastle to constantly use paint to get JPG files. Maybe you were just looking at a BMP file. I think that you can save JPG files as JPG. Otherwise IE5.5 is really dumb in that sense.

No I was looking at jpg files...

And I was able to do this before with no problems at all...

Only after upgrading to WinMe and uninstalling it do I have this problem... Any graphic image saved onto my HD is saved only as .bmp files...

I know something is fu$%$ up because before I could save them as whatever be it .gif or .jpgs ...

Try clearing your cache in Tools>Options>Temporary Internet Files>Delete Files...
