first of all let me excuse my typing skills, i just dont want to take the time to make everything perfect. dont shoot me for typos . i seem to understand cars better than computers

blah blah

motherboard layout

here:
intel pentium 4 2.40 GHz
1024 mb of kingston pc2700, 333 MHz DDR DIMM
120 GB seagate barracuda ATA/100 hdd
PCI card w/ 2 IDE ports (bought this because the primary IDE on mobo was being GAY and not working)
visiontek xtasy radion 9600XT 256MB AGP
reg 52x CD rom
older dvd-r and cdrw 48X combo
all this inside an antec sonata case with 380W psu

i know this can have up to 3 gb ram (3 slots, i plan on getting another stick of 512 or a 1gb stick later to make 1.5-2 gigs ram)..either pc2700, 2100 or 1600. socket 478... 6 pci slots 1 agp slot. i did build this computer myself and im proud to say *knock on a huge piece of wood* since january 2006 this computer has never needed to be taken apart for repairs, no hardware failure whatsoever

so really all i want to know is if theres any processor i can buy or if i should change something to improve.. how can i get better performance. anything for better cooling worth buying? i dont know a ton about this stuff.. but i understand how to build them. the computer only hangs every once in a while when i go to log in, screen goes black.. then it loads. thats the only time it hangs up. other than that, no crashes, couple lock ups in BF2 though..

opinions? comments concerns? anything?
