Despite being repeatedly informed that Trump’s taxes would not reveal any wrongdoing the NYT has uncovered that Trump engaged in activities in 2016 that appear to be both tax fraud and campaign finance violations.

Anyone here still think there’s nothing to see in his taxes?

Naked, criminal corruption. Using a dummy passthrough, Ruffin made an illegal $20 million political contribution to Trump's campaign, which he fraudulently wrote off as a business expense, in order to get his $5.5 billion bullet train from LA to Vegas built.

If Biden doesn't go after all these clowns after he's (hopefully) sworn in I'll be very dissapointed.
There needs to be a NY state connection. Pence is going to pardon Trump when he loses and then resigns.

I mean, it's fucking Trump. There's almost 0% chance he hasn't commited state crimes as well.

To be fair, it WAS a "business expense". He spent money to make money. It just wasn't a LEGAL business expense.

Pretty sure if you're cheating on your federal taxes, you're cheating on your state taxes too. Hard (besides through illegal means) to have huge discrepancies between the two.

A special Prosecutor to examine fraud and theft in previous Administration. Hillary Clinton perhaps.

Elizabeth Warren as AG. Perfect spot for her at the perfect time.
Only minor Snag is a moderate Republican Governor will name her stand in.

Does he get to pick whoever, or does it have to be from the same party?

My thoughts exactly.

He gets to pick whomever.
MA is pretty quick with the special elections however there likely will be post Scott Brown concern.
I am pretty confident the Governor said if required he would pick an appropriate middle ground person. He hates Trump, I wouldn’t be surprised if he chats with Warren and they figure out some middle ground person together. Baker doesn’t need any of the crazy vote so he is safe from that.

IF this is true and IF it involves a Las Vegas casino I'm sure our D Governor and Attorney General might be interested in investigating, perhaps with Gaming Control leading the way.

I’m kinda hoping that this current manifestation of the Republican Party ends up like these guys in 2-3 years. But unfortunately, I don’t think Americans have the balls for this level of accountability.

Unless the payments were for actual business expenses, he said, claiming a tax deduction for them would be illegal. If they were not legitimate and were also used to fund Mr. Trump’s presidential run, they could be considered illegal campaign contributions.

Well, lets sort it out then!

wow, those meetings sound no different than a Trump rally, all with the leader calling for and enabling his followers to go out and commit violence and murder.

Imagine if the US actually made it illegal to organize neo-Nazi murder-planning rallies like Greece did. Would the GOP ever be able to hold any type of quorum, anywhere?

Yes. And when you're talking about "odds" and chance, it points out how the Trump-loving cohort of the public has either failed to grasp common sense or missed out on a practical education.

Review as much as you can the last four years of GOP behaviors, including their constant legalese Trump-defense postures. Before that, they spent at least a year in a real witch-hunt -- Hillary being the witch -- looking for a crime, but found none. Now, with the Mueller report and ancillary investigations, indications of Trump's tax evasion and tax fraud, campaign finance felonies, obstruction of justice, a looming charge of rape, suggestions of money-laundering and many indications of Russian collusion that beg for further investigation to uncover more facts, charges that the President's pandemic response was downright criminal -- the GOP Senate wants to quash further fact-gathering, and pundits all resort to arguments grounded in a "reasonable doubt" posture.

Before there is a jury or any burden to establish reasonable doubt, there is criminal investigation, simple facts, inferences to be drawn from those facts, and facts that lead to further probes in search of more facts. That's a scientific basis for establishing the Truth. Anything else attempts to grasp at improbable scenarios and explanations to serve the bias in the Law for proving guilt beyond a shadow of doubt.

These GOP minions are not Truth-Seekers. But the Base readily accepts their pronouncements to then assert that it is all a witch-hunt and political persecution of their Great Leader. They will take this to an absurd extreme, and indeed they already have done so.

They can't tell me I've made a "rush to judgment" for concluding that Trump is a lifelong criminal, long overdue for Justice to be done.

Biden wants national unity. Fine, but there is no compromise with lunatics. I want Justice -- Justice for being slapped in the face by a Criminal every day for the last four years. Justice for imperiling national security. Justice for Trump's failure to meet his tax obligations. Justice for obstructing justice at every turn and corrupting the Justice Department. Justice for 210,000 people and more before this is over.

I could give a shit about the half-wits who think this is just a war of political payback. Did you look at the mug-shots of the men arrested for plotting to kidnap and possibly murder the Governor of Michigan? Do they look like wise sages? Do they carry current library cards? Do they have the slightest idea of an ethical or moral principle? Do you think that any of them actually read a book -- any book -- in the last five years?

Nuremberg Redux! For Justice!

I mean, this anti-defense is pretty awesome

White House spokesperson Judd Deere called the paper’s findings “yet another politically motivated hit piece inaccurately smearing a standard business deal”.

The comment never even suggests that this was above board, and really that it was a "standard business deal"...which is exactly the fucking point, and why it is illegal, at least from the campaign finance angle. "How dare [standard business] be illegal when this 'businessman' happens to be running for president! unfair!" is basically what he is saying, while essentially admitting to the crime(s).

These guys in the White House are so fucking incompetent it's disorienting.

Well, lets sort it out then!

Step one is removing him from office. Hopefully that happens in November. Once he no longer has Barr to protect him we can sort it all out.

If your not planning on voting for Biden you should reconsider. He is clearly the better choice this election.
