More people checking this forum, so here goes: do you know if Anandtech disables sound on QIII benchmarks?

I think they need to go into a little more detail regarding what settings they are using. For instance, are they using default high quality settings on QIII benchmarks or do they have the texture and geometry settings maxed out? Do they have sound disabled? Trilinear filtering? I can't remember if there was any kind of article on their testing methodology or not. If anyone can shed some light on the situation, I'd appreciate it. :)

Sound is disabled for all serious video card testing. It is the graphics adapter that is under review, not the other elements.

You could make the arguement that the benchmarks should be run with sound on, since that's how you play the game. But that's not the point. I want to know what settings Anandtech uses when benchmarking video cards.

Well, I just took a look at their budget card comparison and I read the Radeon SDR review and neither article makes any mention of whether sound is enabled or not. If you have a link somewhere, post it instead of making snide comments.
