So, umm now I am applying to jobs and all, but none of them seem to want college graduates. Even the ones that say "0 years experience" or "college hire" require that you already have a degree and not that you are simply working for one. Am I supposed to just lie and say I have a degree since by the time they make a decision I will, or am I supposed to wait till after I graduate to apply for jobs? I know I should be applying now, but the way all the jobs are posted I don't qualify for a single one since I don't have a degree yet.

Example

See, EVERY job is listed like that, in the 100 or so jobs I have reviews that wanted "entry level" or "0 years experience" only 3 have said they are for May 2008 graduates, and I applied to those three, but it seems like 90% of the job market won't open up until I graduate which means I would be living with my parents for 6 months until they hire me = FAIL AT LIFE.

Apply to them. I've heard many times that they put in the requirements to weed people out...

When they say they want a degree, I think that they mean they want you to have a degree when you join the company. It's perfectly reasonable to apply for these jobs when you're in your senior year.

They know how it works. If it's an opening for 0 years experience, they won't expect you to start till you graduate. They'll be expecting lots of seniors to apply 6 months (or more) ahead of time with the expectation that they will graduate in good standing and join the company. They might be one or two weird ones that are hoping for a december graduate or something, but most of them will be perfectly happy with you starting in may, june, and july.

the jobs that list 0 years experience or entry-level are resume-collection postings. you will be contacted if/when they decide to fill the position. until then, you are just another resume in their database.

and living with your parents post-graduation while looking for employment =/= FAIL AT LIFE. living with your parents for convenience = FAIL AT LIFE. you dont have a choice at the moment, so suck it up and camp it out at your parents place.

k, just so yall know all of yall were right and I'm apparently stupid. So, I applied for the job and there were several questions about "when will you graduate" etc that make it very clear that they were looking for people who were seniors in college just as much as people who had already graduated. So I assume the same will be true with all the other jobs opportunities I have been passing up.
