More of A Rant About Intel Dropping Stepping Info on Coppermines

I had this page bookmarked for reference and I guess I should have saved a copy to CD and placed in in a vault. I used this page to check steppings for dual cpu config's and since Intel no longer supports the chip they decided to pull the charts and leave the page. Just because a product is no longer made doesn't mean it is no longer in use. I guess this is part of marketing. Rather than leave the info they pull it with the hope that people will lean to the Xeon for dual cpu systems.

End of Interactive Support Announcement: These products are no longer being manufactured by Intel. Additionally, Intel no longer provides interactive support for these products via telephone or e-mail, nor will Intel provide any future software updates to support new operating systems or improve compatibility with third party devices and software products.

The info is probably on the net somewhere, but instead of finding it at Intel I'll have to drill half way to hell and back to find it again. Now that I've got that out of my head, anyone got a link handy on stepping compatibility?

in my book it shows the stepping no probs

ie) boxed cpu S-spec = SL3CC
OEM cpu s-spec = SL364
stepping = kB0
cpuid = 0672
watts, volts, package, etc..
for a 450 p3

"upgrading and repairing pcs"

If you are really annoyed, make sure to call Intel and complain. Call the regional support center at the bottom of the page.
