<< the reason why they don?t use AMD processors is because no Intel processor (based on the P3 core anyway) has a hope in hell of reaching 1.6ghz !!! >>
Not true, it is possible at very low temps with very good yield chips; i can?t wait for Cc0 950Mhz PIII (9.5x100), if lucky 1.3+GHz (-15C) is guaranteed. Current PIII's have a ceiling of around 175MHz FSB. As far as now, i have a "dud" PIII which cant even do 900 (air), i have it @ 1GHz -13C, looking for some better 700 cB0 chips to hit 1.2Ghz... I have been experimenting with lots of chips/supercoolers, and yes i have seen 1.6GHz, but with the help of LN (-125C) or Freon/TEC 3/5way stack (-50C -90C).
