since prices for ram have come down i am looking to purchase a 2gb set of ram for my laptop for use w/ vista...good or bad idea?

edit: since my laptop is only speced for ddr2 533, would it be better to just stick w/ cas 4 533 ram or upgrade to cas 5 667?

I would suggest you buy the speed of memory that your laptop is designed to use. Laptop bios typically do not allow for adjusting memory speeds and voltages. Most likely, if you put faster memory in your laptop, it will still default to a slower speed so, why pay for faster memory when you cannot use it?

Most any RAM manufacturer you like should have a compatibility list to help you select memory. But, 2gb vs 1gb is a good idea IMO, esp on a laptop with Vista.
