really? I'm way past ME2... I hate late DLC

I got FO:NV about a month after it came out, played the hell out of it for 2 months, and got burnt out on it. By the time DLC came out I had no desire to play it any more. bleah

All I've heard (outside of vague spoiler-y stuff) is that it takes less than an hour even on Insanity.

I kinda want to play this but I don't feel like reinstalling everything just for a 1 hour DLC. Maybe I'll play it closer to when ME3 comes out.

I played it. Lets just say this I'm pretty sure they'll use the ending and its consequences in ME3

You mean like they did with the Witch Hunt DLC for Dragon Age?

Not sure never played it but. In short basically Shepard does something bad like really super bad for the good of the galaxy, and while he's told he did the right thing he'll still have to face the consequences.

I was being sarcastic, because that DLC was also short, poorly reviewed, and seemed like a lead in to the Dragon Age 2 story. As far as I can tell, no direct references to the Witch Hunt are made in DA2.

Is it true that
it doesn't matter whether you go Paragon or Renegade, the end result is exactly the same?

Great, I suppose I will have to pick it eventually. Though I was really annoyed by the DLC's after Liara blew me off in ME2, so I romanced another only to have Liara throw it back in my face in Shadow Broker.

Meeeeeehhhh. I totally forgot there was free DLC already out for ME2... Fine, I'll download this.

Honestly, I'm so disappointed at Bioware at this point that I can't get excited about any new content. Hell, the original games' content doesn't feel fleshed out or coherent to begin with!

Yes, it is true. If you want to know what happens, read below

It took me about 90 minutes on normal difficulty. Admiral Hackett asks you to rescue a covert operative who is his friend in a Batarian system. You go by yourself to rescue her. When you rescue her you find out they found a reaper artificat on an asteroid in the system and discover the reapers will use the mass effect gate in this system to invade, its some kind of "alpha" gate. The invasion will begin in a little over two hours.

The original plan was to push an asteroid into the gate to destroy it, kind of like the DLC brink down the sky. The spy takes youto the asteroid to see the artificat because you want more proof. You then find out the artificat has corrupted everyone on the asteroid and you are betrayed. After a battle in the artifact room against the turned guards the artifact knocks you out with some kind of energy pulse. Everyone on the asteroid is working for the reapers. You escape and attempt to start the engines on the asteroid to ram it into the gate. You start the engines after preventing the one you rescued from sabotaging the engines. Before you leave the asteroid either the collector general talks to you through a hologram (if you complete before the suicide mission) or you talk to a reaper (if you complete after the suicide mission)

The asteroid destroys the gate but as the gate explodes it causes a super nova and you kill all 300,000 Batarian colonists in the system. You didn't have time to warn the Batarians. Renegade or Paragon, it doesn't matter, you have no choice. Admiral Hacket visits you and says even though he agrees with what you did, 300,000 for trillions, after this is all over the alliance will try and put him on trial. End of DLC.

Having played both, I can definitively say that Arrival was better than Witch Hunt. Part of the criticism for Witch Hunt was its low production values, with areas reused from the main game and other DLCs. Arrival has all-new areas, with new art design. Also, Witch Hunt answered absolutely no questions about Morrigan's plotline while actually managing to pose a few more. Arrival does push the Reaper plot forward, if only superficially. Also, the all-new music for Arrival is pretty good.

Thanks Ramj70. I guess I will play through it, though sounds like something I rather have a choice about. Batarians are butt ugly though.....

DLC turns me off, makes me want to wait for a GoTY Edition to buy the game and the DLC at once, since usually the DLC is not worth the price they charge separately.
