The Big Three had the engineering talent and sales to compete with the Euros/Japs. What killed them was unions and health care costs in this system.

After bankruptcy I predict good things from GM...assuming they don't lose their drive.

Union did not kill the companies, the pig headed management did.

Both, really. Compensating union workers wasn't in line with competitors in the industry...and GM's health programs for retirees didn't foresee the sale of the US health care industry to the insurance industry.

But yes, bad decisions on design and production certainly caused their plummeting sales over the past ~5 years+.

Oh, I contend the management is responsible. They gave in to unreasonable union demands.

Well, the entire compensation scheme is to blame. Before all that shit the CEOs actually cared about the company, now it's just "how can I best maximise my comp? Fuck the company"

Whats screwed-up is that a lot of these UAW guys are in MI, the state with prety much the highest unemployment in the county. I bet if they kicked the unions to the curb, and offered jobs to the masses at 100% of the UAW wage (minus all the rediculous union perks like paying for years when laid off) I bet you they would be 100% employed in very short order. If they are smart, there are people who would kill for a job making this kind of money for relatively unskilled labor. If they don't get good workers in MI, go somewhere else in the US.

I bet that high belt line on the Cadillac really makes outward visibility horrible.
Well that is the coupe concept. I think the roofline is a little higher in the production version, so visibility shouldn't be that bad. Though I bet the massive C pillars will give it blind spots you could park a tank in.

Sexy as hell though.
