If that's true that would be great news, although a lot depends on the price.

Really? When did that happen... :hmm:

I keep reading that people want the 5850 or 5970/dual GTX 480

Mabe you read it wrong.............

"If true" this could be the Nvidia card to get. gtx 475 or this so called full blown 384 sp gf104 core.

I wonder if this is what they are going to use in the dual core gtx495?
A dual core 768 sp part sounds interesting if the thermals are better on the gf104 chips.

oh yeah, I did read it wrong.

Hope that card comes out, more choices for us. Of course, ATi can lower the prices of the 5850. In another thread I posted an example with the 5770. I guess that it is not much more, maybe the same or even less to make than a 4770 (when they launched) and ATi gave that a msrp of $99. ATi can probably do OK with the 5850 selling at $180.

Doubtful as 465s are harvested 470 and 485 cores.

I wonder how many people are gonna buy a 465 if they have a the 460 and 475 to choose from. If this is true the 460 might turn out to be an awesome card. It will put that crappy 5830 and 465 where they belong price wise.

Most likely but that wont stop Nvidia from selling them. Because a retail card for 200>than tossing the chips in the trash.

Or maybe NVIDIA can keep the GF100 in the tesla market and go with GF104 (which rumour says will have less to no L2 cache) for the Geforce market.

Misinformed people?

I wonder how good are the yields on GF104 if they came with units disabled - or is it simply to keep power in check (via less memory) and/or keep market segmentation?

I thought GF104 was going to be 256 CUDA cores.

Wasn't GF102 the card planned with 384 CUDA processors?
