Hell, it was supposed to be when I lived in Atlanta while going to tech school and Carter became Governor of GA. I had hopes.

Righties like to rag on Jimmy Carter but I have the utmost respect for him. 3 reasons

Integrity
Honesty
Orchestrated the longest Middle East peace in history

No President in history has surpassed him in these categories.

That just so happens to exclude only 2.5% of white people?? A big fat sloppy wet coincidence?? When was the last time Republicans enacted voter restrictions that effected primarily white people? I'll answer that, NEVER!!

You must be a fucking crackhead or a flaming racist. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt guessing the rocks are 2 for 1 this week,
On some level it kind of reflects on white people people living in georgia

Ridiculous. The reason for rejecting was a change in the signature on the request vs the signature on a license. Really? How ridiculous is that. If you don't sign your name exactly the same way as on your DL from 10 years ago, you are rejected.
By some random joe who has had no training and no expertise in hand writing analysis and signature variations.

What could go wrong?

I think it just reflects on the people doing the deed & their leadership. I don't think it applies generally to white people in Georgia at all.

I just renewed my license in MA, my signature from 10 years ago has certainly evolved. Not the same at all.

I’m sure they’ll be no bias in their highly professional signature evaluation

and so accurate about the left.

You poor thing. So persecuted. If the people of Georgia elect a black woman as governor they'll have come a long way since the days of Lester Maddox. The fact that she even has a chance tells us that. It's a good thing.

OTOH, the GOP playing shitty games with the election tells us that old ways die hard.

Be sure to remind us that Lester was a Democrat, ignoring the total party realignment of southern white conservatives.

I live in Georgia. I witness people who wouldn't vote for her BECAUSE she's black. She's the better candidate. Kemp is corrupt as hell. The new south would be one that ignores skin color to pick the better candidate.

Absolutely. Of course Kemp is corrupt. The GOP is the party of big money corruption.

I can tell you that every Confederate flag waving, racist, Muslim hating, Obama birth certificate rejecting individual I've ever met down here is 100% pro GOP and pro Trump.

Voting based on skin color is wrong. Both voting for a candidate and voting against a candidate. Or can't you see the racism in both of those?

Voter suppression based on skin color is wrong. Courts have already proven Republicans are doing that very thing. Democrats don't.

I vote for candidates based on shared interests.

Damn, these guys are scum.

4700 application sent and only 48 received?
Right.

"A spokesman for the DeKalb County elections board would not confirm the details of the call. Sam Tillman, the chairman of the board, added that “there is no evidence that there are any missing or lost absentee ballot request forms.” He said of a list of 4,700 names provided by the Democratic officials, he could confirm that the county had only received 48 of the requests."

From Seth Bringman, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Georgia:
"“Our message to voters is this: If you requested a vote-by-mail ballot from your county and your county did not send you a ballot, go in-person if you are able to an early voting site,” Mr. Bringman said. “We will not allow Brian Kemp’s voter suppression or mistakes by election officials to take away your right to vote.”"

So one person really sucks. One seems to be OK, at least not hideously corrupt. The election is held in a place that places substantial weight on color and the second candidate happens to be "wrong" on that account.

Of course, the second candidate should win according to your standard, and that candidate is black. You are rooting for the candidate who happens to be black and against the corrupt person who happens to be white. Let's see how Georgia votes, or is allowed to.
