It seems every day is a new adventure. After dealing with what happend last nite linky.
Something quite nice happened today. A young sparrow fledging from the nest was in front of our store. It was so cute. It would run around and constantly chirp. Its mother was above it in the tree. Every time the mother landed near the little one, she would ignore its pleadings for food. It couldn't fly very well, being new to flying, but it sure tried its best. I was afraid it would get stepped on as it wasn't afraid of people. I felt sorry for the little guy and gave it some small pieces of bread to eat. He just wolfed them down. It then started to rain so he took shelter in a large planter in front of our store. The rain came down too hard and flooded him out so he took off to the store next to ours and hid in the doorway. After the rain was over he was out looking for food again., while his mother watched.
That is one feisty little bird. He even took on another sparrow that tried to take his bread from him and kicked butt. I hope he does well. He looked so cute especially when he was begging for food from his mother. He was flapping his little wings like a hummingbird's.
That made my dull boring day a little better.
