Public schools now required to display "in god we trust" posters
of course the SCOTUS would probably make up some bullshit "it's not a major question so states can do what they want"

Does anyone think the Supreme Court will revisit its 1943 ruling that protected school students from being compelled to recite the Pledge of Allegiance?

I had no idea of the back and forth of this particular case and the violence that resulted from it.

I can see Marjorie Taylor Green and others leading the charge to toss pupils from school over this issue.

We create what we fear. When Republicans control government, government is truly is shit.

For all the talk of "freedom" I found Texas to be a fucking exhausting and repressive place to live because of people like this who in the next breath will complain about liberal "identity politics". I've never seen a less self aware group of people in my life.

The Carroll Independent School District in Southlake, a suburb of Dallas, on Monday received "In God We Trust" framed posters for each school in the district from Patriot Mobile, which describes itself as "America's only Christian conservative wireless provider."

hmmm being a good Christian conservative wireless provider (god I vomited a little in my mouth just typing that) I'm sure they've banned all porn on their system, right?

Anyone still think my assertion that theocratic fascism is underway is an exercise in hyperbole??
It's been underway since the mid 1990s, and has become all-but-obvious since the mid 2000s.

Here's a little parable from 2005. Give it a read, it's by a great writer and is pretty short:

Essentially covers who the "base" is, and how the Republican Party used and abused them for so long to win elections, but are losing control of the levers, with the base starting to gain power to run the party instead of the "establishment" RINOs.

Here's another little parable from 2006, that covers how the radioactive base is being kept in place by "moderate Republicans", like how a nuclear reactor is cooled to prevent a meltdown. Same writer as above. Also shows how the meta BigLie is that "BothSidesDoIt", i.e. centrist/moderate Republicans who scream about how bad the Democratic Party is are the ones enabling the Republicans to continue becoming openly fascist.

The Republican Base is made up of right-wing authoritarians, and they won't be happy until they have a proper authority figure that is totalitarian and fascist. And the BigLie that allows the Republican Base to continue moving towards outright fascism is that BothSidesDoIt...nevermind the "stolen election" BigLie I've been reading about the past 2 years...that's just a minor detail in the overall arch of our journey into Nationalist Christian (Nat-C) fascism.

Cool, display it on the roof and if they have any problems then tell them to take it up with Him, that you were making sure God Almighty was able to see it and immediately scream that they're not True Believers.

Republicans are desperate to reverse the decline in religiosity and corresponding gullibility in the American youth by ramming religion down people's throats. It will backfire spectacularly.

Nothing like expressing the freedoms our forefathers spilled their blood for by forcing other people to think and act the way they want you to, because then and only then will they feel comfortable with how they themselves were told to think and act by their spiritual leaders and the media that's owned by the megacorps whose only concern is corrupting the gov't for fun and profit.

The death of Democracy brought to you by a fascist conservative political party that got hijacked by a soulless narcissist conman, a priesthood that exploits the political sympathies of their flock for their own takeover of the gov't and a few very wealthy people whose visions of grandeur exceeded the boundaries and rules of the nation that gave them that very opportunity to enrich themselves to no end.

Looks like it's mostly up to the Democrats to "STOP THE STEAL".

Many Christians love to argue that the founding fathers were Christian, and we as a nation are Christian, so public schools should be Christian as well. The problem is many, if not most of the founding fathers were not Christian. It's true that they believed in a God, but they were Deist. Big difference. Deist believe in a God who doesn't interact with the material world. Deist aren't bound by the bible or the holy-Quran. There are no rules that they have to obey. Thomas Jefferson even cut out the magical parts of the bible because he thought that they were silly. And, he kept the parts that he found useful. Which led to the Jefferson bible. Christanity is in a major decline in the West (America and Europe). The religion has shrunk from a high of 70% church goers in 1999- less than 45% in 2022. Young people are not attending church as they once did in the past. Many have left the faith for varying reasons. Its out of touch with our youth. And forcing religion on children at public schools today will only have a negative effect on Christanity, as these children grow into young adults. Many will resent the indoctrination and will leave the faith. You can't force your beliefs onto others. It never works. Especially in our current age of mass information. We live in a very different world today.

In agreement with your commentary, one would surmise if their deity is so omnipotent, there would be no need for their religious order to force their beliefs onto others by actually legislating laws to do just that. Yet here we have a corrupted SCOTUS purposefully packed with activist religiously biased conservatives by a political party that is itself in decline, given the mission to inject theocratically infected law that defy the overwhelming desires and wishes of the clear majority of the nation.

It seems the GOP's desire to rule the nation from a minority party status has prompted them to exploit racism, religion and supremacism as a means to that end. Imagine a ruling party in the minority enacting racist and religiously prioritized legislation into law that defies the will and desires of the majority of the nation. Plutocracy, autocracy and theocracy all rolled into one hell of a dictatorship led by a proven beyond doubt incompetent narcissist debilitated by chronic personality disorders with proven ties to a KGB trained Russian adversary by the name of Vladimir Putin.

Farfetched and surreal in nature, yet it seems we're headed that way.

With the recent resurgence I'm not so sure. Our mass information (or disinformation) has shown to be a boon for people wanting to control a narrative and push agendas and people eat it. While I still believe that it is the minority, it's getting harder to believe given how many people are still praising Trump.
