I thought this too. The woods scene freaked me out.

I thought it was interesting they chose that dynamic, the "knee" joints on both front and back pivot inwards. Give the thing some feet on one set of legs and it should be able to stand upright, and the front legs then have nearly the EXACT dynamics of arms. Right now it has the gate of a primate. If it's on all fours, the front elbows should point outwards which would allow it to have a faster gate.

No vertebrate has forward pointing elbows. They all have limbs that bend forward in the front and backward in the back. On ungulates, the part that benscs the other way is the wrist

Could you imagine hearing a heard of those coming at you through the forest. Then they just pop out and get you. Just wait until they put the mechanical jaws on.

Give it ten years.

How about cars with legs that can never crash and do not need roads with a perfect ride?

I keep imagining an army of 200,000+ of those marching to destroy man kind (of course they have lasers, renewable energy, various sensors, and AI with an IQ of 200).

That's kind of creepy watching it react to being pushed and slipping on ice... it moves almost like a natural quadrupedal animal. And with that much weight on it. whoa

Now I'm thinking of the bipedal Metal Gears in the new Metal Gear Solid 4. Those things have bio legs iirc, and in the videos look creepy as all hell. Now I can imagine some war machine with this kind of ability and it's kind of a spooky world to envision, especially if they can get those things to run with a natural gallop to where it actually is a deployable and useful feature.
