Well, the isrealis and Palestinians are still fighting. Yesterday fighting broke out again, both sides claim that the other initiated it, but the isrealis responded by shelling a mosque, a kindergarten, and an ambulence, among some other civialian buildings. Also 5 palestinian schoolchildren were shot after throwing rocks at isreali soldiers.

Why do we keep backing these people - they're trying to commit genocide. I'm not saying that they're any better than the palestinians at this point, but I'm saying that niether is deserving of support from the US.

I dont have a link, as this was in my local newspaper.

That situation is fubar...And I Know why we support the Isralies, but I doubt that we should have such a hardline policy.

their government knows they can get away with it, all the news is about the WTC attack, few television stations will broadcast about many other things for a while.

[edit] oh, and i think i can make a rough guess as to why israel and the USA are opposed to UN soldiers comming inbetween both sides[/edit]

Because the Jews here are very influential. However, I hope that America starts to realize that a satellite state in the middle east is not worth the animosity of the opposing side.

This blind support and funding for Israel has to stop.

Well part of it is that values here are for self-determined gov't and that is something that Israel has. America's foreign policy holds great value in supporting democracies.

Skoorb, America's foreign policy holds great value in supporting democracies who are willing to fit in the plans the USA has for them. is more correct

remember pinochet? he threw over a democraticaly elected government with the help of the CIA. ofcourse, that was a socialist government.
