While using the PCI-e bus for SSDs does hold promise, iirc the PCI-e x1 slot delivers virtually the same bandwidth, if not less, to SSDs. Now, if this card uses a new and better controller there might be some benefit, but $900 is way too much to ask...try $300.

It would be hilarious if it ends up being slower then the Indilinix/Intel/Samsung SATA controllers.

this is just their same old IO-Drive (which incidently, is faster than any SSD by a large amount) rebadged as a "gamer" and "media artist" product.

well, AFAIK it is the same drive rebadged, so yea, no booting off of the sucker.
