more fallout problems

i have been playing through fallout and then when i turned it on today, i received no voices from the characters whenever i would enter a conversation. voice volume is up at max, and i still am having the same issue.
help would help

I had that problem too. Make sure your sound is set up right. My soundcard was set to to 5.1 surround when I was actually using headphones, which works fine usually, but Fallout 3 didn't like it for some reason.

Do you also have an issue where you can't hear people directly behind you?

on my fourth reinstall nothing is working

Uninstall it and check the registry if there's any entries relating to Fallout.

Not that I mind exchanging good tips here, but at present the Bethesda Forums are a more fruitful place to look for good info on this. For instance, check out this thread in the PC issues forum (and not just the first page, since some good responses are coming faster than edits).
