More Egghead Clearance PCs

These are at the Auction site not Actual Value, I think Auction Sites are not allowed on the board. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks,
Sonic625

Ok maybe I am off. They don't look like auctions to me, just limited quantity clearance items. They have set prices, not auction prices.

Am I wrong?

actually, they look like auctions. but they're not.
merely clearance items, the price is set, even though there are 30 of them

Wow :Q, I went ahead a did a order and it is not an auction. It looks very closely like an auction... opps 😱
Thanks,
Sonic625

What is it with Egghead? Lots of their stuff, auction and not,
is way overpriced. And then, if you're lucky, you wind up with
something great for next to nothing in one of their auctions.

Got my SC450NX/Cabrillo server that way.

Yesterday, I won an HP SureStore DAT/DLT HotSwap taperack enclosure.
This is a current product that retails for over $3000. My winning
bid? $19. Plus $80 shipping, of course (it weighs about 100
pounds).

One things for sure: They're not using shills on these auctions...

Now I just need to figure out what to DO with that taperack.
Prolly good e*bay fodder...

Thanks for the research, Sinner. I was tempted but I noticed that the 600 has a mobo with only 2 PCI slots, 1 AMR, and 1 AGP. The other systems didn't have any info on slots at all. Methinks that expandability will be very limite here. Then again, the price is quite good for someone with simple needs.

You can do much better yourself.
Added up to $504 (or less) using GOOD parts.

Yeah but then if you calculate how much my time is worth, the price would be well over the prices listed above. Also not everyone can build their own system.

Scyber

And prices like $40 for soundblaster live or $7 for a floppy
are also unrealistic. Sure, you can find those prices on
pricewatch.com, but then you know there's $10 or more shipping
on the back end...

Kwad

Kwad Guy is right. you'll get shipping up the wazoo on that stuff. cheapest i've ever gotten a floppy after shipping or tax is ~15.

and that compugeeks case is a pos. 🙂 good cases cost more than $25. heh
