It would be fun to see (underdog) AMD pull a huge rabbit out the hat, but huge jumps are not going to happen anymore until whole new physics and materials are used. :)
Nvidia , Samsung, Micron, Hynix, Intel, Apple , ARM, Imagine Technologies and AMD , to name just a few of many are really on the bleeding edge of technology and physics.

When they can control carbon in a similar way as they can do silicon at a cost level that is similar, we will see new jumps.
Of course, there are exotic materials like gallium nitride but they all have something negative, mainly the cost of production.
