Hehe, that was cogent. I thought the man's post needed a bump. Got a bump and a jerk in the bargain.

Hmm, I read that but didn't find anything about new rules that would require or result in kicking wheelchairs down flights of stairs?

Administrative law judges are obviously going to find something offensive about the proposal, their $100,000+ annual jobs with the greatest bennies and retirement known are at stake!

But yeah, it would seem the 53% success rate with administrative law review for medicare appeals is working better than, say, arbitration or mediation by the National Labor Relations Board (which is heavily favorable to labor cause claims).

With a 53% success rate, there is certainly no guarantee or even a lopsided chance that an appeal will be successful, which suggests the review system is working well.

Maybe some of the nearly $400 Billion proposed for defense spending could be used to help the strained budgets of medicare instead of trying to save money by reducing the number of successful claims? Even one little tiny extra billion would go a long way.

Just a thought.

I'm pretty sure it's in there that each Republican member of congress gets one free kick at a wheelchair bound patient per year as a way to reduce Medicare claims.

A stunningly liberal idea...and it sounds just crazy enough to work.

I demand that you take back at once the suggestion my idea is liberal! 😀

Hm, maybe you should adjust your idea to "let's use some of that 400 billion on a bomber that can bomb the Medicaid patients!" At least, that's what you should say when a couple of big guys in dark suits drop by tomorrow to discuss your new outlook. 🙂

In 1983, the Association of Administrative Law Judges filed a lawsuit, saying that Social Security officials appointed by President Ronald Reagan (news - web sites) had put improper pressure on them to deny benefits to people with disabilities.
Isn't that nice of Ronnie to try to leave disabled people without the types of services that he needs now. Ironic, isn't it?
