I figured this would be coming but I think it's important to keep this in mind while our fearless leaders are debating $700+bln right now. There's going to be more money needed and where is it going to come from??

After I graduate I'm moving to Canada, the question is.... does my fiancee's student loans follow us there or can we just say fuck it like everyone else is doing with their house loans?
How are people with huge federal student loans different than people with even more expensive mortgages who just got a free pass? Why doesn't the government bail out students and complete its morph into the United States of France? Food for thought.Originally posted by: Zstream
If you went to school you owe the school, simple as that.

*Taps sarcasm meter* Not only am I not moving to Canada, I'm not ditching any loans. Besides, I don't have any, only my girl does. But seriously, we plan on paying them off. Curious though, you guys didn't act like it was impossible. I guess it is feasible to ditch them when you go to another country? I thought the credit will follow you, but I guess I was wrong?

Good luck with that. Getting hired in Canada as a foreigner is difficult.
Also, ditching your student loans is pretty low.

The housing crisis is just the tip of the iceberg...
