That would mesh with initial rumors, and would put 480 in the $600+ range?
Or (hopefully), it's an inflated price. 480 in that price range sounds much better.. :)

For that kind of money, and knowing I get better bang for the buck with a 5970 at a little more price but will still be top of the hill

One thing I know for sure, and I'll take the heat for saying this:

Metro2033 will play better on Fermi.
Crysis will play better on Fermi.

TWIMTBP is a conspiracy, nvidia deliberately sabotaged performance, physx sUx, those games are awful, fermi is too big and hot and late, games aren't optimized anyways



Did I leave anything out for the fanboys? :D

GTX470 pre order here in NZ is $720NZD, which works out at around $500USD!...I know we pay premium over here and freight etc, but $200 USD over estimated prices?!


That's about the same price as the 5870 is here in NZ, within $50 either way. Typically nVidia is a bit higher priced here than ATI. GTX 275 was about $50 more than an HD4890 here while they were the same price in the States.
