More Bad News about PS3

Seems not all components will fit into the case that they came up with and Cell CPU may end up running at 2.8 GHz because of yield problems.

they supposedly sticking in the chip out of the slim-line PS2 so it can play PS2 games, something about the CELL not emulating the emo engine properly

its not a bad idea, afterall the PS2 was desgined to play PS2 games, so it makes sense to jus stick the dedicated hardware in it, its all on one chip too

seems sony have the idea that they will upgrade the PS3 over time. something thats bound to piss people off. i mean £425 for the console at launch, then a year later they upgrade it with more memory, HDD, Blu-Ray Burner....i mean come on, i aint buying the same thing twice

it seems to be getting worse and worse for PS3

the other week we had that the cells local mem read speed was a paltry 16mb/s while the read for the same memory was 4Gb/s that makes the local memory pointless

then theres RSX, which so far i believe just isnt good enough, its just a G70 with claims it can only set up about half as many traingles as the ATI chip in the 360.

they really are doing a good job of making me think about an Xbox360 purchase, but im gonna hold judgement till i actually see working hardware and games

lets face it.Sony can't repeat another ps2.It's just one problem after another for the ps3.And longer the release date gets delayed,the more sales microsfot and nintendo will get.And at this rate only diehard playstations fans are gonna buy it.
And it may not even be worth price when it comes out.

Hmm.......... IDK whether or not I'll get a PS3 anymore. I already have a 360 and I'll have enough money for the PS3 to buy it, but right now selling my Opteron + Ultra-D +DDR400 setup and getting Conroe + Intel mobo + DDR2 looks like a better idea, along with a new GPU to replace my X1900XT (perhaps.)

And also about the ps3 upgradeing, if they upgrade it is said they can not touch memory or CPU speed, i would assume GPU speed too. As all games will be based off the spec and if they change something all the devs will have to change certain things and old games will not play right.

it's from theinquirer.net, so it has to be taken with a grain of salt. Sony PS3 has been hyped so much, it will never live up to it. Perhaps the strategy of making the PS3 the entertainment center and the computer of the house isn't working out. Whatever happen to just designing a gaming console that is affordable? Nintendo has the right idea.

Nah, I'd just save for the R600, I've encountered nothing my X1900XT can't play smoothly anyway, except Oblivion. UT2007 +QW: ET could be a different story though.......
