EU attempts to stop science brain drain

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - The EU is losing out to the US when it comes to attracting and keeping scientific research talent.

400,000 Europeans working in the Science and Technology (S&T) sector are employed in the US. Moreover, 75 percent of EU-born PhD holders choose to stay in the US after completing their PhD, attracted by better employment prospects

In short, a trans-Atlantic 'brain drain' is robbing the EU of some of its best scientific potential.

And the trend is getting worse. A recent European Commission report states that "lost human capital" has increased from 49 percent in 1990 to 73 percent in 1999.

So what is the excuse for the lack of dentists?

The bad teeth in Europe also has to do with a lack of fluoride in the drinking water.

There are large areas of the US that refuse to fluoridate the water as well. So...

Yes, getting too much flouride is as bad as getting too little.

the problem with europe, as with any socialist entity, is that it is over-regulated. they need to simplify their laws.
