To summarize my future planned theater - pair of Paradigm Titans and a Denon AVR-1601 or AVR-1700 receiver. Middle-ranged stuff; not audiophile level but not entry level, either.

Do you "really" need those Monster Cable speaker cables at $2/foot? I mean really does it make that big of difference, especially at the level I'm going to be listening at? While I don't think it's the best idea to buy a 20 foot cable for $3.99 at radio shack, the whole Monster Cable pricing scheme seems a bit overkill. Tell me the truth - what kind of quality (and price) should I look at given my setup?

I must admit, I have purchased overpriced cable. Got mine from RF. Old one was a radioshack special. There was a dif, less interference/noise/distortion. But the original cable was old and decrepid. Personal prefrence is the main factor here I guess.

Elemental007,

Please read this post which Ornery has bestowed upon us.

In summary, any cable of sufficient gauge is more than enough. Don't waste your money on expensive cabling. His post is an EXCELLENT informative post regarding expensive over-priced cabling.

That's excellent. Shows me to use the Search function. I'm surprised I missed that thread, I've been very active here this past week.
