More asbestos more asbestos!

Found out my house's ventilation system is insulated with asbestos (I had suspected it..) and what makes matters worse was the fact that it was completely falling apart leading me to believe it's been blown through the system and through the vents (cancer anyone?). I only found out about this after I was getting ready to replace the heaters as they were starting to cease functioning and it always felt like only certain parts of the house were heated. (Because most of the vent pipes/tubes collapsed/caved in/what ever)

Most of the pictures are of the airconditioning guys and the asbestos guys' trucks.
Man this sucks, I also had to work underneath the house with this crap, and I'll only know in about 30 yrs from now whether or not it mattered... Bleh

I don't see any asbestos in your photos,it's not likely they insulated duct work with asbestos. It was used to seal seams in houses built in the 40's You might want to check into your house history, contractors who built it and find out what company actually made the insulation. There are plenty of lawyers who will be more then happy to sue the manufacturers.

Nope, it was all over the ducts, we had to remove all of the ducting in the house which costs a lot of $$$$... You're right though, it's usually to seal the seams at the base of ventilation systems but for our house, it was not so. The guy who built out house went bankrupt anyways and it was perfectly legal back then to have asbestos. I was going to take pictures of the ducting with asbestos in the air tight bags but by the time I came over, they were loaded up into the truck and were gone.

Air conditioning guy: Hey, what are you doing with the camera?

Guku: Taking pictures to share with my internet buddies.

Air conditioning guy: 😕

Dude that really sucks. It was nice knowing you.

Actually you should've made the topic "Asbestos just popped out of my air conditioner" (summary - Should I be worried?)
