Cracks Cause Amtrak to Halt High-Speed Trains

Such a sad, sad company. Has anyone ever ridden this thing? I was about to until I realized that flying USAirways shuttle from PHI to LGA was cheaper and faster. But I do hear the seats are more comfortable and they have high-speed internet access. I bet the problems stem from using a high-speed train on low-speed tracks (cracks were found in stabilizers on the train meant to keep the train stable on standard tracks.)

The track system between Washington and New York are some of the best that Amtrak has so I doubt it has anything to do with the tracks themselves. More likely it is either a manufacturing or a design flaw that will be worked out.

The trains in question are a new design and made Bombardier, who I believe have never made a high speed train before. Due to the newness of design and the lack of experience of the designers, growing pains and glitches are to be expected.

They have to have high speed internet access to keep their customers from dropping dead from acute boredom.

Man . . . if they can do it in Japan and Europe, why can't we do it here? :\
