Yep . maybe not intact. Do you remember ATIs tech agreements with intel and cross license agreement. When AMD bought ATI . THat was dissolved.

Amd was foolish to by ATI without knowing who owned what tech . My brother inlaw still laughs about it . He left ATI right away for intel.

Dam edit sucks . The bottom link go to gallery page 3 upper right hand corner your right hand.

I don't mind showing the art. Its the case I don't want any to see. I have applied for patent . This time I should get it. Nothing like this has ever been done.

Probably. They may be pared down to a GPU design firm eventually, especially if what SickBeast said is true about future CPU designs from AMD.

Well if thats the case the irony is unbelieveable as ATI is EPIC . People at MS have a pool going as to when epic comes to the desktop.

How far back do these forum pages go . When I zinn2b was banned I was saying exactly this. The AMD fanbois were all over me. I said Intel would push epic to the desktop. World war 3 broke out.AMD 64 was cramed down my throat. I also said ATI would have SLI again I was linked as zinn2b. Know one wants to see EPIC on the desktop more than I except intel . NV sure doesn't want to see it. Why do you think intel laughed when AMD bought ATI it was EPIC that caused the laughter.

When will we get to see the case? Few months? Weeks?

Our plan was to show it with Nehalem . I didn't care what Video card was in it. Than strange freaken things started to occur. It took me 7 months to come up with Complete
Nemesis Theme . I was Turtle 1 than . I choose Nemesis for the water cooling system because it is flat out the best water pure water system on the market. Also the most expensive. The case gave me fits . . I just couldn't get the airflow right. So I bought equipment to measure airflow. Finely got it.

We were ready . But than once again AMD screwed things up with their naming of the Dragon Platiform . That blew my freaken mind. As you now Intel bought Project offset. The game has DRAGONS in it . So now I am thinking . With AMD dragon platform and intels larrabee coming out at same time as project offset game. We need to wait to release at same time as Intels release of larrabee. So thats when you will see it. perhaps before the release but that depends on brother inlaw getting me the card.

If I had 1 stuppid wish to make it would be that Intel would name its platiform Nemesis to ans the dragon platiform . That would be so cool . The way things have happened for us . Who knows . But it seems like everthing is working to our advantage .

Intel call your Gaming platiform Nemesis . It would be the perfect end to a lot of work for me . Besides I can't think of a better name to go up against the dragon platform .

The China people will eat the dragon theme up from AMD they love that shit . Chinas own Cpu is Dragon LOL.

I said that Chinas dragon cpu would soon be selling in greater numbers than AMD . I didn't get the time frame right . But Iam right about who will sell more units its just a question of when.

Now I may forget this but you remember it . When you see my PC . It has all the options . Also I may not be the one who shows it but it will be said whos it was .

These consist of

1) Airbrush art. BY real artist signed.

2) The gauges.

3 The magic . I won't go into that . I will just show it at proper time.

hereswhat the gauges are.

1 vac. gauge at inlet of pump
1 pressure gauge at pump oulet .
1water temp gauge at intake manifold
1 water temp guage at manfold return
1 air temp gauge at rad intake room temp.
1 air temp gauge at rad exhaust.

So the airbrush work can save buyer thousands . Case color is any. Powder coat done correctly . As the paint is applied to anodized aluminium without sealer. Sealer is done after the paint is done. Thats the correct way,

The gauges are not needed. As the system comes properly tuned from us. Just read were the flow control valves are set and than play if you want . It won't change one dam thing tho . I really should be careful as were changing Rad brands . But the only thing that could change is the noise level . But unlikely as you can't here this thing running at all. Just a slit whisper. We recieved our silver blocks for the cpus base last week . Which assure us it will be the top block period . It has the best design that was proven years ago befor PCs. Research could help some here . I new because its been my field of work for over 20 years. I was happy with the temps we were getting . At Idle its the same as our copper block . But onload I was shocked at what we seen . These blocks are for our system only .

But daughter and I were discussing this. Skinee lives pretty close to me. So I will make sure you guys see results. But you will never see inside this block ever unless you buy our system . . It still won't be easy as we use special bolts. Google.

Her cost of cpu block Extreme. When you see the PC the water block for GPU will be whats available on market . Until we can get ours machined up. We were machining our own blocks . But to time consuming . We hired a shop that can machine 10 pcs. at once . way better The cases we machine and form . Lazer work is sourced out . But its my best friend on earth . Its really cheap. The plastics are cut on our own laser. for the dragon window on side of case.

Nemesis I can see you are quite paranoid about having your designs duplicated (and rightfully so IMO).

Sounds like you have applied for a patent in the US, which is the only country to employ the "first to invent" philosophy when it comes to designating the owner of IP regardless of patent application date.

The rest of the world uses a "first to file" philosophy when it comes to designating the owner of IP.

Just be aware that if, for example, you do not file for a patent in Japan or Taiwan and someone reverse engineers your designs and subsequently files for patents in those countries before you do then they will be legally awarded the patents for production and sales of your designs in those countries.

Your patent in the US will of course preclude them from manufacturing or selling your designs in the US market, assuming you have the funding to lawyer-up and pursue patent enforcement against all infringers.

And as you are aware, having a patent means pretty much nothing unless you have the money to pursue enforcement of that patent. But even then if your design really is revolutionary and superior to the current state-of-art then you know it will be reverse engineered and replicated/duplicated by the thousands once the designs hit the PRC. No amount of patent enforcement will save you or anyone from plain thievery.

And of course all the big-guys in the case world will acquire your systems thru legal means to see just how much they can legally replicate your IP.

So be paranoid, but be realistic, you are merely delaying the inevitable. Once this comes to pass all you have is your reputation and brand recognition. So build your brand recognition strong from the beginning. Anyone can illegally make tennis shoes that are identical to Nike but only Nike convinces people to pay >$100 for the swoosh insignia on the sides.

How long do you think the design cycle for a processor is? If you can buy a CPU in Q4 2008, how far back did the design team ramp up to full size? How far back was the first silicon available?

4yrs, Q4 2005, and Q4 2007.

Unless you are SUN then it takes 8yrs before you cancel the project, a decade minimum if you want to actually carry it thru to silicon

I kid, but seriously the so-called millenium chip (Ultrasparc V) was started in 1995 and was supposed to ship in 2000 (ergo the millenium moniker)...only it didn't, and after being behind schedule by 4 yrs it was cancelled in 2004.

9 yrs total, and when it was cancelled they divulged they had nearly 3,000 (!!!) people working on it. Obviously they didn't have 3k people working on it for 9yrs, surely it ramped over time.

Could you imagine having 3,000 people working on Bulldozer alone? And being given 9 yrs to get the job done? Duke Nukem Forever.

I imagine at most AMD has around 1,000-1,500 headcount in total (company wide) dedicated to bulldozer at this time and you'll have been given 3yrs from start to tape-out. (then another year for first silicon, debug, respin, validation and prod qual)

I wonder how this compares to the auto and aerospace industry.

Your part of the reason I like AnandT. So much . Main reason being their reviews. The only reason I filed for patent was to see if I could get one . Try filing for heatsink design . Everthing was designed along time ago, Ya need to look at forced air heat sink design in a closed block . Or heatsink design for hydralics. Very revealing stuff,

Ya I am aware butt not worried about ripoffs after the fact. We designed the case out of best materials . FOR long long use. Quality is what were about . Any one can rip us off . But to match quality that would be terriably expensive . Our target is people with more $$ than brains. Or people who just plan want the best of the best . That all we offer.

We could sell high volumn cheap crap. Henry Ford once said I would rather sell a million cars @ $1 profit than 1 car with a millionn dollar profit. I am going just the other way. I love Henrys thinking but its not the model we well use.

I could cut cost big time . But than quality goes out the window and what were left with is a nice loking cheap case. My pc comes stock at 4.2 ghz using 965 . Than only part I want to stress is the cpu . All hardware is retail . Buyer gets retail benies on all parts except O/C parts . Dar covers that . If the seal on case is broken warranty is canceled.

The filters we use are not cheap . Think in $100s Ya we can be ripped off but quality match gives Dar edge as we only profit off the case NO hardware profit zero nada. To match quality they would have to produce high volumn cases . In a low volumn market . We see a max potential of maybe and its a hugh maybe of 50 units a year.

Now if ya like go to XS forum read there water section . Some of the so called gurus are kids learning the Math. YO do not need to publish math numbers its useless for the users because of the systems used in a PC. The math is for part design . Than some of the things stated by some of these guys is just retarded. You can only do what the parts are designed to do . Hi flow vs. low flo Makes me want to rip hair out of head. The guys using the r30 pumps understand . Everthing changes with that part including the useless published BS math . What people use today in water cooling is a bunch of mis matched parts. A good example of pure BS is the TC rads. Everone is coping TC , Its not tc design at all . Google the TC160 single core . You will find that the core is from a late 20's core design . Even has pics if ya can find on google. We elected to install gauges so user can adjust and understand easily without the freaking math, Ya want to know pressure drop check the freaken gauges . God I hate stupidity.

When I started this project long time ago I went threw some learning curves that surprized me. As I wasn't exspecting some results we got . My biggest folly was our own rad . I was so proud of it . A rad designed to do the job it was meant for . I mean we went all out Fully polished out brass. It was really great looking . Outside the case it worked flawlessly . Inside the case it was a piece of shit. I could not get proper air flow threw case . It really depressed me. It cost us time and money.

So basicly is what my orginal plan was to just use parts designed to do the total job. And put it inside a dream case . I am aware its a tiny whinny market I have targeted.

One might ask why is airflow threw the case is important. I don't know what Dar well do when I am gone. So I allowed for air cooling . To cheapen the system up. Something I would never do.

I have stop now as I am not feeling very well. But thanks for your comments. Its a struggle but in the end all I want is for you guys to remember. Is this stupid guy who changed how we view water cooling on pc . Done right . That the only thing I am getting out of this . A little rememberance and pride.

Oddly enough, other then my 401k taking a crap on me, I'm doing pretty well these days... well enough to buy a complete luxury item like an un-"needed" (but really wanted) video card anyway. :)

Anyone that thinks the president has much effect on the economy needs a lesson or 5.

So true it hurts me to even read it, how dumb people can be these days just amazes me. Whatever the media tells them is truth and all they end up telling people is negativity against the president.

Normally I would tell these types to stuff it. But for some reason part of me wants to grab a gun and go hunting . I fear terriable times are coming to the USA. Nothing like what we have ever seen since the cival war. May GOD have mercy on us. .

This is why my second hobby is firearms :D

If you look at the $$$ wasted on the Iraq war, and the fact that the banks were forced to hand out sub-prime mortgages, you will see why GWB is 100% to blame for this mess we are in.

Fact check: Congress approved the iraq war, THEY SIGNED OFF ON IT KNOWING IT WAS A DECLARATION OF WAR! You're an idiot if you think otherwise.

Fact check #2: Congress and the house financial comity along with a few others are directly to blame. Bush never signed anything forcing the banks to give loans to people who can't pay and who has no credit history. People you wouldn't loan $10 to knowing full well they can't repay you were getting $400k loans for homes.

Nobody was "forced" to sell subprime mortgages.

Nobody was "forced" to sign loan docs on a subprime mortgage.

I really dont know where some of this stuff comes from.

They were, but not by the president. I know people who are in the real estate business and they told me with their own mouth that if they didn't reach a quota for minority home loans, they were fined a large sum of money by the federal gvt.

That's all I'm gonna say on that because the simple fact is people can easily say "I don't think we can afford this house yet" and be done.

I am not disagreeing but I will play devil's advocate. If you have a client that makes 30k a year who's responsibility is it to not offer a 400k loan?

Nemesis is actually on point although his presentation is a bit lacking. The FED is in my mind an illegal organization empowered by a Government that was very much influenced by the old money families. It has been retained for many years because we are so entrenched in it and there are plenty of people who want a piece of the pie so they become sold into the system and advocate its legitimacy. From teachers, to bankers, to new students learning the material.

Economic models have predicted this collapse and in early 2008 there were congressional hearings with economists, such as Nouriel Rubini who is a world renown economist, about why this happened. Don't believe me... You tube it. Watch the C-SPAN for yourself.

He gave testimony that could be interpreted that the FED is the the source of why we are in such a bad shape right now. He doesn't go into the politics of how we got here but he does say that the FED did not do what it could have done to make this a shallow recession. In fact, they did their worst and the law making about the 700B bailout that their must be monkeys in the whitehouse because surely rational thinking human beings the whitehouse and Senate do not have.

If you have hundreds of people, including congressmen, economists and market analysts for months and months telling the few people who do make laws ( and the presidential candidates who are playing politics with our financial future ) that this is wrong wrong wrong and they do what they want to do anyway?

If that isn't living testimony to a circle jerk consipacy against the american people then reason is truely out the door and we're banking on faith in the people who got us here to make it right by us. Yeah. Uh huh. When you make your wish of Change you better be ready to pay the piper when it comes. Change is coming and its name is globalization and the desecration of the constitution.

There's a difference between AMD putting all their chips behind an EPIC-based GPU design and AMD releasing EPIC-based CPUs. It would seem that their GPUs are more competitive in the marketplace than their CPUs, leading me to believe that CPU sales may eventually take a back seat. X86-64 is here to stay for the desktop, at least for the forseeable future, and I don't see AMD rocking the boat there. It works to darn well and legacy support for apps dating back to Win2k/XP is too important for both Intel and AMD right now.

I can imagine one...if AMD hadn't made that Foundry Co deal, they would have been out of business sometime this year.

Bush? Hardly.

The Left insisted that people with no way to pay get loans for cars and homes.

The folks on Wall Street who think our economy is their own private casino exploited this, making millions and billions off of those toxic loans, bundled and sold in credit swaps, a thing only a world-class economist could possibly totally understand.

Everyone else-- i.e., the solvent people who work hard and pay their bills on time-- get stuck with a trillion dollar check and see their retirements cut in half or more; the auto industry has to beg while the very banks responsible for putting us all in the shitter get piles of our money basically gratis, and nobody knows where it has gone.

It's the people in Congress, like, say, Barney Frank who "roll(ed) the dice" on the fiscally unworthy because it would be a warm and fuzzy thing to do-- insisting that even though they couldn't afford a new car or a McMansion, they should be able to get a loan for one (this group includes an estimated 5 million illegal aliens with subprime mortgages), matched the bottomless greed of Wall Streeters who don't give a crap about the country, only about making money out of money (or even out of imaginary money). They're the ones responsible.

GW Bush had nothing to do with it.

The country represents its people and its culture. Our representatives in congress represent us in more than just the constitutional sense. Show me where >50% of american households have no debt or a balanced budget and then we can talk about how awful congress's fiscal policies are for the american people.

They are us, we are them. We may not like it, but we can't expect congress to be made up of some super segment of our citizens when it is we (who can't manage our own fiscal lives) who vote them into congress to begin with. If the people of congress stopped doing what we common folk already do then they won't exactly "represent" us anymore...they will be representing a bunch of folks who know a thing or two about money.

There's a phrase for this..."The people get the government they deserve."

Yes, yes we did.

Damn, I vowed to not go to P&N anymore and then ran into this in the CPU forum! :(

Side note...I feel about the same as those poor folks at AMD..as I currently work (at least for now) in the automotive industry and my pay and benefits are being shredded before my eyes (not to mention my investments and retirement money - or lack thereof now).

I nominate a lock on this thread....too political for this forum.
