Moral topic regarding software

I was setting up a friend's PC, and not noticing. The date when I installed everything was july 14 2007. I realized this after I had installed some of the programs and changed it back to the correct date.

When I was showing the family how they only had limited trials of various programs (anti-virus etc.) the trials said that they had over 2 years remaining. They responded by saying "Oh, that's long enough, don't worry about it." At first I didn't realize why this happened. But now thinking about it at home I put the 2 things together.

I would feel like a jerk if I re-installed everything with the correct dates and suddenly they have way less time then before on their trials. But at the same time, isn't the software on their computer considered illegal now?

What should I do?

Well, one of the things the family wanted was no stolen software... but technicly it isn't stolen.
