moral Dilemma

So, theres this kid, he's currently 4 and a half I believe, there's no way he or his parents could afford legal, or even illegal movie disks. I live next door and he came up to me today and asked if I could show him how to use bit-torrent. I'm surprised he can read as well as he does, but apparently not enough to decipher tech babble. The thing is, I'm assuming he is going to use it to download movies, though he specifically said Bit-torrent, and nothing about movies... but it's obvious that he's asking me to teach him how to get free movies.

Do I go ahead and tell/show him what to do, the torrent part? If this kid was 16, I wouldn't feel so awkward: "oh pr0n, yea go here, click this, press join, validate email, rock on", but he's 4 and a half, that's a little early, just weird. It's as if I'm starting him on a dark road, and setting a bad example. Not pr0n exactly, but the whole jack free stuff on the internet

Clarification: The country is CHINA

I would point the kid to the library. Free DVD rentals there.

You would be opening a whole ball of wax if you started showing this kid how to stuff like that.

I'd say no. With so much BS these days, who knows what you could be setting yourself up for in the future. If something happens even further down the road, he can say my next door neighbor taught me how to distribute kiddie prn and hack into the bank.

Did anyone else have pr0n when they were 5, I did. NOT that i'd show him, but I had pr0n when i was 5, and this isn't this isn't a moral issue for me.

Just make sure he doesn't do something stupid and get his family in deep shit. I'd rather teach him to do it right they for him to screw it up. Or even do it yourself for him.

I hear they chop your head off for a lot of frivilous reasons there. Also this thing about a execution bus that tours around. ;)

Nah, he's gotta figure this stuff out on his own. My brothers and I all did - it's a good learning experience. I'm rather surprised that a 4.5 year old even cares about Bit-Torrent, though. When I was that age I wasn't even using a computer yet.

If you're having a moral dilemma and turning to ATOT... I'm almost sure you know the answer or else you're moral compass is completely fucked to begin with.

Besides the answer to your question is this.

Do it! Think of the opportunity - corrupting the youth of the world at such an early age. Governments *dream* of this.

Knowledge should be earned. If he isn't smart enough to figure it out on his own, then he can't handle the responsibility. Point him to the library.
