Moral Dilemma

so I won my FF league and was browsing around on our site to see the payments, dues...ect as I knew I would have some debt I would have to owe in for transactions and so forth...

However I was surprised to see that I was listed as "Not Paid" for any of the league entry fees which I thought I paid on draft night in person with cash to the league admin...

So I got on the horn with my bank to see if I actually did take money out of a money machine before the draft meeting and sure enough I did...100 dollars on my way to the bar where the draft was held.

There was a lot of tech difficulties getting in that night and I know the FF admin was overwhelmed with things at the time trying to get things up and running...

So I got a hold of him today, to state my case and that I had thought I did pay him that night...

He said he thought I wanted to paypal him the money which I DID mention but he said he didn't have it set up and would get back to me...

He also said he wrote down everyone's name on an envelope who paid that night...

SO...now I am in this moral Dilemma as he said if he truly thinks I paid then he will make me as paid.

I don't know why I would have taken the money out and not paid him even though that is entirely possible...

1. Won FF League
2. Checked league Due's to see what I owe
3. I am listed as Not Paid
4. Disputed with Admin as I took exact money out 30 minutes before draft from money machine
5. Admin has a different version of the story vs. mine...was adult about it but is hinting he thinks I said I would "pay later"
6. Admin tosses it back on me and says if I truly feel like I paid then he will mark me as paid


7. Need to make a decision...do I say forget about it and I will re-pay or hold my ground and say NOPE sorry I did pay...which is what I think I did in the first place.

Since you can't remember paying, and the person keeping track of it marked you down as not paying... the choice seems rather obvious to me.

You obviously did not pay. How could you not remember giving someone $100? You know you fucked up, that's why you are here asking us about what you should do. You want to somehow absolve yourself of the guilt you know you're going to feel if you 'hold your ground'.

To everyone who says I didn't pay how could you NOT remember paying 100 dollars...

I am saying I think I DID pay him...I don't ever take out 100 dollars cash...always use plastic...which is why I think I paid him...if I hadn't made a withdrawl the night of, 30 minutes before the draft started...then I would have been cool with it and just ate the cost since I didn't know 100%...

I am usually good with payments and being on time which is why I think I did pay and it just got lost in translation.

I know we (The FF Admin and myself) have a convo about paypal or not but I thought I asked him what his preference was...and he told me he didn't have paypal setup "at that time"

He was pulling out his hair trying to get the draft working...it was 3 months ago so forgive me for not remembering every detail of the night...

I did ask him about the money from that night and if there was a way that he could re-tally it up...basically he said he already had the website updated with what money he had so what I saw is what he thinks is correct...

Either way I am not mad...just don't feel like paying twice for something I thought I paid for already.

No you aren't misunderstanding me...I was probably misunderstanding your question...

I don't know where the actually 100 dollars is...it was over 3 months ago when we had the draft...he just recently posted the "you owe xxx" on the website which is why I was like "HUH? I thought I Paid You"

I recall a quick converstation at the beginning of the draft about how he wanted to be paid, I mentioned "paypal" because it was electronic and he said he didn't have it set up.

I didn't piss away 100 bones at a bar I know that much and I don't recall having money left over...

It is possible I just didn't pay him which is what everyone assumes when a post like this is written...

I never like to leave debt hanging out there for this very reason which is why I generally get things taken care of right away...since my wife is a hawk with the finances, I usually have to get the good graces to pull out a sum like that for something like FF...

I think if the administrator of the league would have notified everyone right away of their dues "people 1, 2, & 3 haven't paid me yet" then this wouldn't have happened...

I am not blaming the guy or calling him a liar...I am just as guilty for not having proof of payment which is why I wanted to do a paypal transaction...

I will probably end up just eating it...but learn a lesson for the future which is about all I can get out of it I guess...

one side of me wanted to contest it but for what...it is just FF...

Sounds like the FF admin needs to do a reconciliation of the money to see if he's short an entry free to me.
