Moral compass question: Pet Peeing

I am curious as to your thoughts if one of your neighbors deliberately walked their pet over to your car to have a piss. How do you feel about that? Where do you draw the line and say something and if it happens a second time how would you handle it?

If a one time thing, no harm no foul.
If on the tire...no harm no foul.
If the dog is power washing the paint work and its a regular thing...well then you have a problem as that will damage the paint.
That should be a simple adult conversation with the owner.

Send a car wash bill and warning that if any corrosion happens, that bill will be much larger, along with a printed screen capture of the video as evidence.

Even if it was only a one time thing, as long as the spot smells like urine, every other alpha-wannabe male dog that smells it will also want to urinate there.

There's no moral compass here. It's human nature assigning a story, a purpose, a moral compass to a nonchalant, arbitrary action of a dog, because a property, a personal space was violated.

My friend gets all prissy when his neighbor from a few blocks over picks up her dog's poop, bags it, and throws it in his trash bin. He said it smells...as if bagged poop really stinks any more than his trash. But that's not the issue. The issue is real that she used his bin that he's paying for, without permission.

I would have no problem with a pet owner that actually throws their bagged poop in the garbage, any garbage. I would gladly let people put theirs in my garbage rather than leave them lay there as so often is the case.

hahah...seriously. We all told the friend what you said, but the friend was getting all worked, contemplating installing a camera, suing the woman for illegally using his trash bin, putting up a "no poop" sign, etc, etc. It was entertaining, but the little things people get all worked up over...

In the 3rd world, do it after a warning and the dog might get shot. There's a big difference between a free roaming dog choosing to urinate there, and the owner taking the dog over to the vehicle or stopping there to LET the dog urinate on it.

Actually it will, is corrosive, but if someone walked up to my vehicle and dumped something else, equally corrosive and stinky on it, we'd have words about that too.

If you have so little regard for others property, it is lack of morals that makes you not recognize the issue. Doesn't even matter if it causes quantifiable harm, is simply not acceptable in a civilized society.

Yes, also unacceptable, but highly possible that the feces smells worse than the rest of the garbage. My garbage hardly smells at all because I compost all organic matter, except meat scraps get frozen until trash day so they don't have a chance to sit around rotting.

Your property is not assumed to be subject to the whims of anyone else for ANY reason. It makes no difference at all if you think you can rationalize an excuse. Literally, NOW GET OFF MY LAWN!

You don't seem to get it. There is no thing, no matter how little, that is your liberty to do with other peoples' property. It's black and white, a line in the sand, and the idea that *something else is worse* is irrelevant.

If someone can't bare to carry their bagged pet feces back to their own house because of how far it is away, don't go that far away from the house in the first place, or ASK neighbors if they mind, then you have their permission.

At the same time I wouldn't personally mind if someone threw their feces bag in my trash can (as long as the trash collector had not come by yet0, but I would never presume I can just throw mine into someone else's trash because it's not my property.

Have observed....on camera...neighbors throwing their poop bag into my trash can while they walk past the trash can, if the can remains on the curb during walk times.

You don't seem to get it. There is no thing, no matter how little, that is your liberty to do with other peoples' property. It's black and white, a line in the sand, and the idea that *something else is worse* is irrelevant.

There are shades of gray, to think otherwise is insane. That's why crimes have different categories and degrees. This is not rocket science.

It's funny how people come up with their own standards. It's like returning the cart to the cart corrals at stores, it's almost a trivial thing to do but people still don't do it. I personally don't have any problem with people tossing their dog poop in my trash can if it is on the curb, but I wouldn't toss mine in someone elses (unless it was full and due to be picked up that day). Just the quirks of human kind.
