Visitors are welcome to join in as well. If you want to be included in the stats but don't want to join the team (yet), post your BOINC/WCG ID name here so you can be added to the list.

Hi, I know I am late to the party but I am making my run to 100m total WCG points " SystemViper Points 96,188,480 current"
Plus going for 50M "Open Pandemics" 47.5m current.
Then 50m "Mapping Cancer Markers" 38m current.

One other thing, I will be flying the XS colors but I am here "of my own choice"!
I do not speak for the team or in any way does my participation here say anything but SystemViper wants to play...

I hope I'm not to late and look forward to seeing you on the leaderboard.
I am SystemViper :cool:

Thanks
Steve

Welcome aboard Viper! Can we claim you on sub-team "Funky Bunch"? We are trying desperately to catch 2x the big dog "Marky Mark"! There appears to be many vintage smart phones at work as well...

I have resorted in my quest to put down the Endgame by firing up smart phones and old laptops. Do you all remember how long it takes to start a puter with the O.S. on spinning rust? This is making me a bit resentful of being challenged.

So after about 1.5 minutes of waiting for the login screen on one of these old laptops (2 Cores each, I am not going to bother with the single core Athlon 64) - [yet :) ], a see a little spider walk out from the exhaust vent! I swear I heard a , "what the hell are you doing" from the little guy. So get this, I proceed to login and say to myself that I did not appreciate being spoke to like that, and the little guy goes back into the exhaust port that now is blowing a bit of wind. Though the exhaust fan sounds like it is dying from bearing failure.

I finally found a bag of portable power supplies and cords. Took 10 minutes to find which cords went to each laptop. I think I need to clean house, which I also resent. I blame this on Endgame also.

Rough day ;)

Hmm

I may have to break my rule about not switching projects on the raspberry pis. This is getting serious!

Well, I am out for the night. Endgame will be happy to know that I have now been fending off spiders AND working on 2 old spinning rust laptops. Do you all remember how long it takes to update spinning rust WINDOWS laptops? Now think how long it can take after they have last been updated in early 2018. Yes, last decade. I continue to blame Endgame... So much energy wasted and they have not crunched nuthin yet.... :)

@SystemVipers you need to make sure you are set to allow stats exports. Free-DC isn't showing any activity for you on WCG for at least several weeks. Instructions to enable it are in the first post of this discussion.

Edit: It's showing some credits for you now, so either you fixed it, or you just started running it again recently. ;)

Either way, I'll add you to the next stats chart in the morning.

Hey, I'm getting GPU work! :) It doesn't push my cards very hard, though. Anybody got an app_config to double up work on each card, or is that not effective?

Edit: And I ran out. :(

I'm using this and its pushing a 3070 to 100%. No idea if its an ideal config since I also ran out of tasks.
Code:
<app_config>
    <app>
        <name>opng</name>
            <gpu_versions>
                <gpu_usage>0.25</gpu_usage>
                <cpu_usage>1</cpu_usage>
            </gpu_versions>
    </app>
</app_config>

Hi FD, now I know what to call you, rather then F, lol
But thanks, Once I posted here, I saw that WCG was just cogitating points and told me to come back later,
So ran to all my machines and set them for WCG and OpenP.
I think it's just that I made the switch late Today "EST" once i came here and saw the event was "in progress" nice....
But keep me posted FD, and thanks for your efforts here and at the SC!

So I'm all in on this event, but I have a board coming tomorrow to run (2) E5 4669 V3's
Thats another 72 cores 2.3 Ghz @ 100% load of E5 powa, 325W at the plug...
Yea I didn't even know that a E5 4000 series chip will run ina X99 or dualie, Till now! Rockin' E5's
I think it's my last outlet but I will see tomorrow. :oops:
Thanks for letting me play
-Steve

How did i jump so high on day 3.
I thought id be in the 20-25k range and race voodoo5_6k. It's just that
this isn't fair. using the same computers as day 1 and 2.
3800x, 8/16 core and a 9900K, 8/16 core part time. o_O

I had a nice jump too. Did you have your computers set to do GPU work if it's available? I got some GPU work; if you had a deep queue set maybe you got more.

No didn't do anything yet for gpu's, and Boinc Manager is set
for 1 day work. I just dont know the output of WCG.
Sorry 6k
Don't worry- we'll keep racing :)

By the way, WCG shows me 58 pages of results in progress, plus a few more with pending validation... Sooner or later these will all come in too... I bet your account looks similar.

I'm certainly not a WCG expert, but my understanding is that if your computers are relatively new and not yet "trusted", they have to be validated by a wingman, and that can take a while sometimes. (I have 21 pages of results waiting for validation, for example.)

Eventually, when the computers become trusted, then you don't have to wait for validation of results.

I started up 2 newer computers yesterday and they both has to run a single OPN wu to open the floodgates for more,
not really sure about if or not a wingman but i'll look too...
