Maria Montessori's great-great granddaughter.
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - But for her famous family name, 15-year-old Hanna Montessori would have lived and died in obscurity, her brutal murder another teen runaway statistic.

The body of Hanna, the great-great granddaughter of schools founder and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Maria Montessori, was found just after dark on Jan. 19. She was lying, beaten to death, in a quiet Southern California neighborhood, far from her home in Georgia.
My daughter is in a Montessori school. Very sad that the kin of one who did so much for kids went so far off the tracks and died while still a child. 🙁

So sad, I was gonna say 'blame the parents' but after reading the article it seems like Georgia police and social services just let her slip through the cracks.

Gee, there's a shocker. They're usually so competent.

Interesting to note that she seemed to go off the rails when her parents divorced. Pisses me off that people don't seem to consider stuff like that when splitting up. :|

Dumbass parents, they leave blame the police for what happenend to their daughter, as if they didn't have any responsibility. Maybe the authorities didn't do anything, but the parents didn't either. :|

Forget about people needing to think about the kids prior to divorce. People need to think prior to fscking.

Eh....that's a semi-unfair thing to say since her folks divorced when she was 11. A lot can happen in a relationship in that amount of time. Of course, a lot can be dealt with like mature adults in that amount of time instead of allowing things to fester to the point of destroying the relationship as well.

what is a montesorri school?

I don't know! 🙁
In a very small nutshell, it's an alternative approach to teaching kids. Much more emphasis placed on the kid learning to learn than just having stuff fed to them. So far, I think it's great.
