"Warranty service doesn't extend to power supply used for Bitcoin Miner. "

Check the bottom of the "Overview" section, of the Century 850W 80Plus Gold full modular PSU:

Hard to believe, if true. Sounds like a crap PSU, if it can't be used 24/7 at it's rated specs. AVOID.

Never heard of Montech, but looking at their pic and that they use Jap. capacitors, it seems more like an unfriendly policy decision and recognition that bitcoin mining for 5 yrs (their warranty length) is far more likely to kill a PSU than less severe service.

It looks like just another case of a company hiding limitations in the fine print to mitigate their losses, but as WB mentioned, there's no way to know if it was used for BC.

Either way I'd rather stick with something else that already has some legit pro reviews up, or are there for this already?

Heat dissipation is the ultimate determinant of power supply life. Thus, it is fan performance and heatsinking that determines the longevity of a unit.

As important as reviews have been, there has been an emphasis on desktop user creature comforts in grading them. I don't think heatsink size has ever been mentioned. It was only because of the Youtube channel DonkeyLearningIT did they come to my attention.

It is likely they have a few "autopsies" and know which components have fried internally due sustained heat in the area. Their fans are probably less effective in airflow and/or the heatsinks are likely smaller.
