MONSTER system, is a E6600 enough?

hrmmmm ... me thinks ill get the 1920x1080 one =) more money but i have a feeling it will last me longer and be a better investment. One more question, would it be possible to hook my computer up the 40" and run a game in that window and then hook it up to a 19" LCD moniter and have the desktop still open to run programs/email/internet etc?
 
Just so you know... many people have trouble with super high performance memory (micron D9 based) in the Striker boards. Probably BIOS. But never the less there have been numerous reports around the forums about people unable to run their 1066+ rated memory at those speeds, but the EVGA board will. Has to be BIOS.
 
Shrug, ive got the memory running at its stock settings perfectly fine ... this system so far is rock solid, put it through some prime95, 3dmark 2006, and a 3 hour gaming session of Oblivion and no problems =)

My biggest question now is basically .... soundcard? I gota tinker with the onboard audio and a optical audio cable and see if its true surround sound or not ...

No, SLI doesn't allow having more than one video output, no matter how many outputs the two cards themselves have.

That's what the guys in our lab are saying. IMO, knowing ASUS, the bios will come around quickly.

 
Hrm, my Asus board clocks memory 2x better then my EVGA. From my experience the Asus works much better. I couldn't even do 1T @ 800 mhz on my EVGA I can run it at 1000 mhz on my ASUS. As for CAS 4 it would die at about 1100 mhz on my evga, now goes to 1160 on my ASUS. Cas 5 dies at 1300 mhz on both for me.
