There have been a lot if trash resident evil movies since the first one set the bar for video game based movies.

You know how they say sequels are usually bad?

Well, the "Resident Evil" film series is a textbook example.
The first one was OK, and quite rewatchable.
The second one was "meh", and it got worse and worse, progressively... by the sixth film, you just don't care about it anymore.

PWA should retire.

So i'm watching it.

i would describe this movie as:
when the Director of Resident Evil and the babe star of Resident Evil decide to make a reboot of Pitch Black (monsters afraid of sunlight that only come out after dark) and it's sequel, Riddick.
ie: boss monster stung by poison stinger they got from killing another monster

i'm 2/3s done and they switched to another movie archetype that's set in a desert oasis.
what that movie is, i dont know yet.
i stopped it because i have to get up early tomorrow.

Also, i havent seen any Alice in Wonderland references yet.

so far, an entertaining mindless monster flick.
please dont let the last 1/3 of the movie turn into a Star Wars Episode IX wtfbbq bad

Damn, this was a bad movie... as people already said, it stole stuff from better works ("Dark Tower" and "The Old Guard" immediately come to mind), and the whole thing is less than the sum of its parts.

Just watched this weekend. Mindless monster movie with Tony Jaa and Ron Perlman.
Ending scene shows a possible sequel to kill more monsters.

please dont let the last 1/3 of the movie turn into a Star Wars Episode IX wtfbbq bad

finished it.
sigh.. yup.. last 10% of the movie (Dark Tower/US Army Armor) was stupid silly.
it became a Japanese game with oversized swords.
and It looked like a Game of Thrones dragon but ALOT more invulnerable.
