Monster? I heard this requires you to buy a $200 hi-fidelity Platinum SATA cable, to minimize signal loss and provide more colorful video when playing back multimedia files off of this drive.

Just remember, if you buy this, you are supporting an awful, sue-happy, company.

Friends don't let friends buy Monster products.

Good one.

I went in to a Audio store close to the time when Monster cables first hit the market. Killing time I looked at the Monster cables and had to laugh at the claims on the packaging. A salesman came over to "help" me. I asked why anyone would need a #6 wire to carry a 2-300 watt signal.

He launched off on a story about how when you used small cables some of the signal couldn't fit on the wire so you would lose the music on the "outside" ie the highs and the lows. But if you used Monster cables then all the music could "fit" on the wire and so the sound would be better.

I just had to walk away ... how could one respond to something so out of the bounds of reality:eek:

Now OOS. And, Monster? Really? Who doesn't make an SSD now? I have a Monster optical audio cable connecting my BD player and receiver, and wow, was that ever worth the $40 investment back when.

Not.
