Monster Cable can be so silly........

Now how's this for a marketing gimmick?

Last week, I saw a new Monster product come off the truck at work while we were sensor-tagging loose repack items. It was a Monster Cable MP3 Jukebox cable kit, which is essentially a shielded mini "Y" cable with a "special" Monster telephone cord, packaged with MusicMatch Jukebox software.

I gather that for similar reasons why Belkin can make outrageous claims that their "Gold Series" printer cables have significantly better performance than much cheaper IEEE 1284 compliant cables, Monster decides that it's time to start marketing a SHIELDED telephone cord. How lame.........

Don't get me wrong, I try to use well-constructed cables with HOME THEATER equipment. But modems???? Give me a break. Little does Monster want to reveal, modem connection speeds are highly dependent on line circuit conditions and the quality of your ISP's equipment. But we'll fix that all up with this nice and thick phone cord! Hehehe.........

A fool and his money are soon parted. All you have to do is think up the right marketing gimmick or useless junk you can sell to those with more money than good sense.

Ditto. They decieve/lie and make the $most$ while us technical guys are happy with their 5% annual raise. Well I guess without marketing/sales types you could have the best product it would never sell 🙁
