The picture in the link makes it look like 2 * 8pin + 1 6pin power.... that is a lot of juice.. (Edit, yup HWC states that configuration out right)

Now I understand many people go for a single slot card instead of 2 crossfire because of space constraints.. But 3 slots for this thing? Sure You save one but really? I'd love to see the motherboard that lets these things work in crossfire.. The layout would be something to behold, extra long ribbons for sure.

O_O

Would have liked to see a backplate with plenty of inputs on a three-slot card, but that's a minor gripe in the face of this unholy beast.

This would be a good card for the 760 Classified. The spacing would be perfect.

However, not a fan of Asus stuff.

this beckons water cooling all the way
Not really. That would totally defeated the purpose of spending the extra money for a card that is so well air cooled, only to strip it all off to install water blocks. Water cooling money would be better spent on a stock 5970.

Looks great, but it's not my cup of tea. I can't see blowing that much money on something that's as quickly outdated as a graphics card.

Aye, it is in the top left in the Nordic hardware board shot. Looks to be a bit farther to the left than the average card, and there is only one like the other X2 cards. Also appears to be covered in yellow plastic.. Mind you, I'd be more interested in the case mod that is required to fit one of these in the bottom of a mobo.. Stilts anyone?

450 watts worth of power connectors on this product, but it still has the same 256 bit/GDDR5 memory chips as the reference cards.

This is disappointing because I know even at lower (non-Eyefinity) resolutions the stock memory bandwidth (while not a bottleneck) is a limiting factor.

But you'd need some space for three more slots beneath the 3rd slot.

Wrong board. This is what you need, a 760:

It takes 3 slots so it will cover the speakers, power buttons and front panel headers.

I thought changing the bus width require some changes in the gpu core itself?

I was thinking of these modules.

Couldn't a board partner use that product as a drop in replacement and gain up to 40% extra bandwidth in the process?

ok, so we can have two of these, but where do you put the GTX295 for physx?
You don't, duh. Remember, NVidia oh so brilliantly decided that running PhysX along aside any card that's NOT a NVidia card as the primary graphics adapter would be a big no-no and disabled that ability.

I would be more concerned about this card breaking with that much copper sitting 10" away from any form of support.

I'm making a home for it on my HYDRA board, next to my ROG Mars.

Each of the five display outputs will be hooked to a TripleHead2Go box, for a total of 15 monitors.

These will be mounted on my Emperor gaming chair.

For power, I've given it a dedicated line to my submarine's nuclear reactor.
