Monsanto is one of the true evil corporations in the world.

The BBC had a multi-part investigation on their practices worldwide.

It's not just going on in India. In Europe, farmers are losing their land if a neighboring genetically-modified field cross-pollinates with their own crop.

Monsanto runs on three components:

1) Patenting life.
2) Extorting fees from farmers.
3) Litigating the farmers who don't pay into submission.

It's an evil corporation which is needed by an evil movement to advance an evil anti-GM agenda.

doesn't obama have a lot of ties to monsanto?

Interesting. Did you just make that up as troll bait, or do you have evidence?

Found this page

More $$ to Dems over Reps, but not a whole lot. Guilliani and other Republicans recieved more than Obama, but none really recieved a whole lot.

Data may not be right up to date, didn't check.

Thanks, I guess ElFenix is just making stuff up again.
i was asking a question because i was interested. feel free to post what stuff i've been making up. i doubt you'll find any. this from the guy who was making claims that the US would invade cuba.

just googling 'obama monsanto' brings up a thread on democratic underground about a monsanto (amongst others) lobbyist joining obama's team, though it looks like a sour grapes clinton supporter and cites washington post, so who knows if it's accurate.

a dailykos post ties clinton to monsanto (fyi, i know it's not what i'm asking).

wired reported that one of his science advisors was a monsanto board member. that bit is probably what stuck in my memory.

Any proof of this?

do i need proof to ask a question now?

Well, you should have SOME evidence. And I guess the hiring of an ex Monsanto employee may classify as SOME evidence, I admit.

The problem isnt gm crops, it's the terminating shit that was never supposed to be released commercially.

As stated before, there needs to be a controlled real world test to follow field tests.
that is waht this was.

Whether the termination would come out after thefinal test plantings, that is up to them. It is good policy to have it in place initially.

Boy oh boy.... so much whining and ignorance...where to start. Part of me want to play snarky politics and point out the obvious hypocrisy of the people who are always whining about Bush/Rep/etc's supposedly "anti-science" policies. The other side suggests I should post the other side of the story which one person has asked for. I'll make up my mind in a bit...

You would think after Bhopal the Indian people would have developed a healthy skepticism about corporations which only 'want to help'

Only you could call this a "free market."

This is really crocked thought. Without proper establishing procedures should not be enforced on poor. Very sad.
