So if these dont have any scalers, would they still do full screen if I hooked up a PS3 to HDMI or would it be massive black bars everywhere?

If they don't have scalers then they wouldn't be able to display your PS3/360 at all. That would mean the monitor can only accept 2560x1600, which those consoles can't drive.

They said will be getting a 27" with an HDMI port thus a scaler but who knows when?

They do offer the 30" with one.

I believe they also sell scalers separably on the site too.

if the monitor is hdmi 1.4 then it should handle 2560 by 1XX0 as long as your video card has hdmi1.4 out. also assuming you have a 1.4 cable.

If these monitors can display the BIOS screen (800x600), then they most likely have a scaler.

I've heard that 720p will work as that's an exact multiple of 1440p. But otherwise you need a modern video card.
