I've ordered from monoprice dozens of times without a problem. My last order was screwed up by UPS. They delivered my package to the wrong address. Called then and they refused to discuss it with me. Told me to contact the shipper. I called monoprice and they did an awesome job getting UPS to fix their F*uckup. Called them while they had me on the line even. Very personal and genuinely helpful. Had my package hand delivered by a UPS supervisor late that evening who tripped all over himself apologizing. They even offered to refund me the shipping cost. all I can say is wow. Damn good people to deal with.

And no, I have no connection to them other than being a more than satisfied customer. It's how a company handles things when things go wrong that really counts.

It almost kind of sucks, I have a local shop that sells cables pretty cheap, at least by retial standards, but monoprice.com is still about a third the price. I want to support the local guys, they just can't compete with online retailers.

Free shipping on large orders?

Seriously though it's a minor grip since thier prices are already so low

I too love monoprice. but, we've gotten several bad toners from them at work. Monoprice has always been good about exchanging them, but it's still a pain.
my boss has asked me to look for alternatives.

advise them that their toners suck and or you'll stop ordering those from them and see if they will change out their batches or anything

I've ordered a handful of HDMI, USB cables, and various adapters from them.

I, too, had a package not show up from them. I sent them an email and they (without any questions) shipped another cable out. Pretty good service.

It shouldn't be a one way street, the local guys should be kind to you too (as in having good prices.)

I rarely buy stuff I don't have immediate need for. But stuff is so cheap at monoprice that I have lots of extra audio/video/hdmi/speaker cables from them (plus some gang boxes), awaiting some use. Their service is excellent.

Monoprice is good for the small stuff, but Newegg is still much better. Lots of stuff shipped for free, cashback available, great customer service, awesome website for searching/sorting in general, bunch of reviews, occasional great deals AR/AC.. there's really no comparison, just because monoprice sells cheap cables and another miscellaneous connectors doesn't put them in Newegg's class. Shipment times between the two are no contest, monoprice has taken up to 4 business days sometimes while Newegg rarely goes over 3.

When I was re-wiring my house, I kept a lot of the ends of the CAT-6 and RG6 cabling to make patch cables. Then I looked at monoprice's prices. I recycled the cables, they made them for about the same price as I could... and I already had the cable! The cables were a good quality item, they didn't overcharge shipping, and they arrived reasonably fast. Definitely awesome.
